Firefighter of the Month: October 2016

H3We would like to congratulate Assistant Chief Bryan Bennett on being selected Firefighter of the Month for October! Chief Bennett is an vital member of Howe Springs. He held his current rank as a volunteer before joining us full time a little over three years ago. His passion for the fire service shows as he consistently works a full week and still runs calls after hours and helps with events and training on the weekends. Just this past month he has been involved with organizing a golf tournament to benefit injured firefighter/paramedic Tessie Smith, a Charity Ride, spent the majority of 72 hours rescuing/evacuating people during Hurricane Matthew, and if that wasn’t enough he has been involved with collecting donations for the Nichols community that was hit hard by the hurricane. Chief Bennett has thirteen years of fire service and has since obtained the Fire Officer 3 national certification and Instructor 2. He lives in the Claussen community as a member of Station 4. We are proud to have Assistant Chief Bryan Bennett as a member of Howe Springs Fire Department!
